July 2006 Newsletter
Hello Everyone & Welcome to our July 2006 Newsletter
Save Our Parents Continues to Tour with Body Worlds:
We have continued to travel with The Body Worlds National Tour; bringing our Save Our Parents Educational venue to the public. Our last stop was at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science on June 26th thru 28th. This Event was supported by Centura Hospital; a major healthcare provider in Denver and Olympus. Cherie Orwig Director at Centura Health said, 'It is so exciting to see the response of visitors to the museum and to the Colon Cancer/Body's Worlds event. It's more than successful!! It's Fabulous! The doctors are amazed at the interest of the participants.
We very well have saved a life through this amazing 3-day event. Thank you all for bringing
this to the public's attention!'
Many thanks to you all at Centura Health and Olympus; without the participation and support of organizations like yours we would not be reaching all of those who need to hear our message.
Next Stop: St. Paul, Minneapolis!!
The program in Denver was such a success, that we will continue along the Body Worlds Tour to St. Paul Minnesota July 26th thru 28th at the Science Museum of Minnesota to get the importance of early screening message heard and understood. The St. Paul event will also be sponsored by Medtronics and supported and staffed by Minnesota Gastroenterology, P.A. Please come on out and support this event!
National Black Women's Association {NBNA} & Black Men in America:
We are honored to have been featured in the National Black Nurses Association {NBNA} Spring Newsletter and will continue our focus in the African American community; an ethnic group that has high incidence of Colon Cancer. We are truly excited to begin working with Gary Johnson, Founder and Publisher of Black Men in America.com to continue to provide educational programs throughout the black community.
Fire Fighter Cancer Foundation (FFCA):
We are also very excited to begin working with the Fire Fighter Cancer Foundation (FFCA). These brave men and women spend a great portion of their lives saving and
ensuring the quality of life for others. Our Foundations are combining efforts to provide education about early screening. Our goal will be to assist the FFCA to develop and establish educational and fundraising programs with an emphasis on screening all firefighters as they reach retirement and screening age of 45-50. Together, we hope to save many lives and
ensure the same quality of life for the firefighters that they give to so many.

As promised, we wanted to take a moment to touch on a very important topic:
Colon Cleansing is a topic that is second only to Colon Cancer of frequently searched Google terms related to the colon. The rationale for colon cleansing is the belief that toxins build up in the stool, sit in our bodies, and lead to disease. Many people believe that if we clean out the colon with different products - from enemas to oral preparations - we will decrease the amount of these toxins in our body.
At this time, the Foundation has no supporting objective evidence, clinical trials, or any validated scientific information supporting the value of colon cleansers. In fact, many leading experts agree that colon cleansers can do more harm than good to the colon.
What many people do not know is that the colon lining, called the mucosa, gets its nourishment from bacterial products that exist in the stool. In addition, colon cleansing leads to sloughing of the colonic mucosa, which can lead to inflammation and subsequent colonic diseases.
All of this can be very confusing when searching for information about colon cleansers, or colon cleansing. Since there are so many companies advertising their brand of colon cleansers and absolutely no medical or governmental institutions policing these companies please be careful.
As with any advertised product, on the internet or in your local store, it is recommended to consult with your Primary Care Physician, Gastroenterologist, or Colorectal Surgeon before use.

We always welcome your thoughts and appreciate your support.
Thank you and as always...
My Warmest Regards,
