Susie's Cause: The Susan Cohan Colon Cancer Foundation
FEBRUARY 2010
Hello,

In response to the numerous requests for information and an equal amount of requests for a Healthy Living Section on our site, the Foundation has enlisted the nutritional and lifestyle expertise of Dr. Joel Fuhrman. On a personal note, as Executive Vice President of the Foundation, I have read Dr. Fuhrman's books and subscribed to his website, which provides an online forum with Dr. Fuhrman to ask him questions directly in real-time. I also ordered some of his wonderful products. In fact, after just 8 weeks of following his program, I've lost 20 pounds, experienced extraordinary results in reducing my total cholesterol levels from 214 to 155, and I've achieved a overall nutritional balance.

After having the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Fuhrman personally, we are confident that he is the individual to assist the Colon Cancer Foundation in providing to our followers the most current information on health, nutrition, and colon cancer prevention. Dr. Fuhrman has agreed to contribute on a regular basis with important updates on nutrition and health. You can view his website at www.drfuhrman.com.

Allow us to introduce Dr. Fuhrman and his insights. Read more here.

Thank you,
Robert A. Smith
Executive Vice President

SUSIE'S CAUSE AND CARMEN MARC VALVO AT SAKS PALM BEACH
Saks Fifth Avenue Event
Many thanks to everyone who came out to support the Saks Fifth Avenue fashion event during January in Palm Beach, FL. Over 150 guests were treated to a fashion show featuring Carmen's latest evening and swimwear creations while enjoying delicious hors d'oeuvres and sipping Carmen's signature cocktail created just for this event.

The tremendous success of the Saks 5th Avenue fashion event has enabled us to help Susie's Cause and raise funds to continue with our cutting-edge national education and support programs. Guests included members of Palm Beach society, as well as many physicians who are committed to increasing awareness of the need for early detection of colorectal cancer. HAVE A HEART: GET YOUR LOVED ONES SCREENED
According to the American Cancer Society, 1/3 of all cancer deaths this year will be related to lifestyle, including poor eating habits, inactivity, and obesity. Almost all of the information you may come across urges everyone to be screened for colon cancer at 50 years of age (45 if you are African American). It is very important to speak with your doctor about being screened earlier if you have a history of colon cancer in your family. But age doesn't always matter when it comes to diagnosis. And if you care about someone and they are experiencing any symptoms, encourage them to get screened. Remember the most common symptoms of colon cancer are NO SYMPTOMS AT ALL! Visit our website to learn facts about colon cancer screening at any age.

Then check out these prevention tips on how you can eat healthy and stay healthy for your loved ones!

About Susie's Cause

The Colon Cancer Foundation was founded in 2004, and received 501(c) (3) status on January 19, 2005. The President of the Foundation, David Rodman Cohan, an international business attorney, vigorously launched this Foundation after the tragic loss of his daughter Susan Cohan to colon cancer. Susan is survived by her two young children.

The Susan Cohan Colon Cancer Foundation will work to eliminate colon cancer as a life threatening disease through the development and dissemination of educational programs focused on prevention, early screening and detection, and aggressive therapeutic intervention.
