April 2007 Newsletter
Hello Everyone & Welcome to our April 2007 Newsletter March was an extraordinary time for the Foundation and our mission to eliminate colon cancer. Our events across the United States were very successful in continuing to spread the word on early screening and detection. We had the opportunity to expand our media coverage on NBC news. We were contacted and spoke with representatives from the Larry King Live show and provided them with insight on our work and our vision as to how to best impact this disease. We began to work with the Department of Veteran Affairs. We were honored to participate in the Dialogue for Action Conference in Baltimore Maryland where we were able to forge new relationships with leaders from the Mayo Clinic and the University of Arkansas for Medical Services. We took the opportunity to speak with representatives of C3 and the Colon Cancer Alliance to talk about how we could work together. In addressing the many requests that we receive on our website for information on Holistic living and approaches to cancer we were introduced to Donald Yance, a Clinical Herbalist, Certified Nutritionist, Integrated Lifestyle Counselor and author of the book Herbal Medicine, Healing, and Cancer “I have recently had the pleasure of being introduced to the Colon Cancer Foundation to participate in the exciting documentary film announced in December’s newsletter. Since then, I have spoken with Dr. Rod Ehrlich, Executive Director of the Foundations Symposiums to further explore ways in which we might collaborate to address cancer prevention and care through further education as regards Natural Integrated Medicine. The Colon Cancer Foundation understands that in today’s modern world we are exposed to many stressors from the food we eat to our environment. In fact, experts link 33 – 35 % of cancer deaths to what we eat. (Journal of the American Dietetic Association; 1995) The resulting impact affects us in ways we may not even be aware. Unfortunately cancer has touched every one of us at some time, in some way. Fortunately, a wealth of research and decades of clinical experience are now providing compelling evidence that substantiates the many ways there are to support and encourage our bodies to resist a host of chronic degenerative diseases, including cancer. Along these lines, I would like to present you with insights that can be of great benefit to you and your family to ensure all of us understand as best possible our complete options for addressing personal education, self-responsibility, wellness, quality of life and longevity. We continue our journey in April with another exciting event with Centura Health in Denver Colorado at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. The Save Our Parents program will travel from there to Phoenix Arizona with Body Worlds and on to Puerto Rico. We are excited to have been invited to continue our Body Worlds tour with Olympus in Charlotte North Carolina and Dallas Texas. Our mission continues to create and deliver cutting edge programs and new and exciting ideas to educate and energize the public on prevention of this dreaded disease. At the same time we continue to provide support to the millions of visitors to our site. We are growing at an amazing pace and with your help we can continue to have the same impact as Komen with breast cancer and Milken and Lance Armstrong with prostate cancer. More than ever, from coast to coast, we need your help. Please help us continue our work and visit the Donations Section of our website to help us reach our goals for 2007, or send your donations to: Susie's Cause All My Best Regards,
