Second Annual Memories
Gala
The 2nd Annual Susie's Cause
National Colon Cancer Screening Month dinner dance was simply perfect.
We take great pride that in these unparalleled economic times over four
hundred guests enjoyed the very best of entertainment, food,
friendship, and purpose. Everyone raved throughout the evening about
every aspect of the event. In attendance were business and political
leaders, our valued medical sponsors, hospital administrators, respected
physicians and scores of old friends and new. Our most important guests,
of course were the many grieving men and women who have lost
the people closest to them and patients fighting the battle of their
lives. There is no greater reminder of the purpose of what we do
than to meet the patients that we have been honored to provide guidance
and medical care in our great city that they would not receive anywhere in
the world.
It was deeply satisfying to
celebrate six years of the hard work and a time to reflect on the
blessings that we have received over these years. Our Foundation has
firmly established itself as The National Voice of colon cancer and takes
overwhelming pride in colon cancer experiencing the greatest reduction in
death rates of all cancers in the
It was wonderful to share the
personal pride of the Cohan family in memory and love for Susan as she
certainly was smiling down on all of us last night. Jack Serio,
Barry Blank, and a team of highly dedicated Board Members graciously gave
of their hearts and there valuable time to ensure the success of the
evening. Our medical partners also provided their economic support.
Last night we set the stage for this magnificent event to continue for
decades to come.
Today we go back to work as
our Board begins to plan our Annual Race and Golf Weekend. We are
excited to implement over the coming months a newly designed state of the
art web site to provide our millions of followers the information and
support they seek. Our $7,000,000 Susie’s Cause Screening Month
National ad campaign continues throughout the Country. We are
excited to begin our Primary Care Education Tour, and continue both our
Save Our Parents and the Sharing, Caring, and Surviving Colon Cancer
Series. We will continue to develop and implement cutting edge,
action oriented programs to continue to strive towards our mission of
eradicating colon cancer as a life threatening disease.
Rarely in life does reality
meet expectations, but last night was a reminder of what is possible when
the very best of intentions, support, passion, and caring meets the
highest of purposes. Thank you Bobby Smith Executive Vice President Susan Cohan Kasdas Colon Cancer Foundation
